Some achievements 🏆

• Advised three fintechs launching in the US (two B2C and one B2B) on a successful GTM including obtaining direct access to partner banks, negotiating with third party vendors and obtaining regulatory approvals.
• Helped launch Canada’s first securities regulated crypto trading product in Canada.
• Helped launch Wealthsimple Cash, the first challenger bank for investors.
• Led the negotiation of bespoke and lucrative agreements with banks, third parties and large global partners.
• Used regulatory strategy, compliance and business strategy to unlock new revenue opportunities and cost savings resulting in $MM saved.
• Under my leadership, Wealthsimple was the first fintech to achieve full stack payment infrastructure access comparable to a bank by:
  • Becoming a member of Payments Canada and get direct access to the payment rails to build banking functionality.
  • Was granted a direct settlement account at the Bank of Canada for the upcoming Real-Time Rails.
  • Obtained a direct issuing license to issue credit cards and prepaid cards.
  • Becoming a direct participant/member of Interac’s e-transfer network.
  • Stacking CDIC coverage up to $500K.
